Here, We have to form a 3 digit number

a) If repetitions of digits are allowded

5  x  5  x  5

The one’s place cane be filled with 5 times. Similarly ten’s place can also be filled 5 time same wit Hundred’s place.

Total numbers = 5 x 5 x 5 = 125

So, 125 numbers of 3 ditis can be formed when repitations are allowed.

b) If repetitions of digits are not allowed

3   x  4   x   5

The one’s place can be filled up 5 times, ten’s place can be 4 times and hundred’s can be 3 times

Total numbers = 5 x 4 x 3 = 60

So, 60 numbers of 3 ditis can be formed when repitations are not allowed.
