 Signed magnitude of +6 =(00000110)2

 Signed magnitude of -6 =(11111110)2

-6 signed 1’s complement

The -6 is represented in the 5-bit register in the following way:

  1. +6=0 0110
  2. Find the 1’s complement of the number 0 0110, i.e., 1 1001

6 signed 2’s complement

    +6 =0110

    -6=1001

 now add 1

                    1001

                    + 1

                 1010     

 -6 2’s complement is 1010.

Decimal number 4673 conversion in to

a. octal
